Oil based paint is best to use as it will give your wood chair a glossy shine. If you are deciding to use paint from a can then brush the paint on evenly and lightly for the first couple of coats. Last but not least use a finishing coat of lacquer to give maximum protection from the elements, just simply spray it on exactly how you sprayed on the paint in the start (light and evenly) and you will bring the luster and life back into your wooden chair.
