Five Tips to Keep your Interior Fresh

Home interiors are a very personal thing but it is fair to say that regardless of style most people like to have a change around every so often. You might think that this has to be a lavish affair that is going to cost you a lot of money, however if you decorate your home in the right manner it needn’t cost a lot at all. Here are five tips to keep your interior looking fresh with out having to break the bank:

  1. Keep the fixed decorative items neutral.
    In terms of wall colours and wall papers keep the colour scheme neutral, this means that you can add coloured accessories and easily change the overall appearance of your room.
  2. Use rugs
    Rugs can say a lot about a persons home, more importantly though they are a great way of getting some personality and a splash of colour in to any room. If you have kept your décor neutral then any rug should go in your home.
  3. Have interesting furniture
    Obviously to a certain extent furniture has to be practical, but try and step away from the norm – everyone can go to their local home store and pick up a new bit of furniture. What about getting something different? What about getting something unique? You could either renovate some of your own furniture – painted furniture can look great, or you could by a unique piece of reproduction furniture from an auction centre.
  4. Have lighting that has changeable shades
    Being able to change the shades on you lighting fixtures will not only change the way that the light fitting looks, it will also change the light that is given out by the light. Changing the lighting in your room can have a dramatic effect.
  5. Own a room screen
    A room screen is one of the most flexible pieces of furniture that you can own, they can hide clutter, create privacy and easily partition off rooms. Room screens can also act as beautiful pieces of art that become a focal point in any room. The fact that they are portable means that you can very easily move them around the room when you get bored!
