How to Get the Best Bathtub

May 5, 2011 · Posted in DIY · Comment

There are quite a lot of bathtubs available in the market today—which is why choosing the best one that you can use tends to be quite tricky. Well, tricky in a sense that you would have to think about how much you are willing to spend and how much space you are willing to allot for your tub. There are free standing bathtubs, ones that are classic and ones that are modern. You can also choose to buy insert tubs (whether or not you would want to have a shower stall included is your option). There are also whirlpool models and Jacuzzi, as well as walk-in tubs. Of course, you can also opt to customize your own bathtub, but you would have to make sure that you have the necessary free time to finish your project.

When getting a tub, you would have to take a long hard look at your bathroom and determine what you need based on its area. Do you have a small spaced lavatory? If you do, then a 54 inch bath tub is good for you. This 54 inch bath would be able to provide you enough room to soak yourself in, and also provide you enough space so as to make your lavatory look larger (you might need to make other renovations in order to do the latter). Otherwise, you are free to get any other sized tub for your personal taste or convenience.

Another thing that you might want to think about is the make of the tub. You would be able to select from a number of materials, each of them providing you a means to match the tub to your bathroom’s theme. Is the best one there is the most durable? Is it the strongest? Think about these questions when you are already checking out tubs. Cast iron ones are really expensive, although they are the most durable. If you are not after durability and strength that much, but rather you are going for being practical, then choose a fiberglass one instead.

Luxurious Home Improvement with Corner Bathtubs

A lot of home improvement is pretty basic. Paint the walls, choose a new couch, or settle on decorations for the walls. However, sometimes it can be more exciting. Sometimes it is about adding classy, stylish, and luxurious items that you know you will get a ton of enjoyment out of. One such case is remodeling your master bathroom and adding a corner bathtub.

The Basics
As the name suggests, a corner bathtub is a bathtub fitted in the corner. Such a tub differs from the traditional bathtub in a number of ways.

The standard design is to fit the corner with a large deck. Inside the deck you then drop in the bathtub. Ideally you want the color, material, and style of the deck to match what is chosen for the bathroom in general. The drop-in placement of the bathtub means that it will blend in well and not unnecessarily draw attention to itself. Additionally it gives you the opportunity to place shampoos, soaps, etc., right next to the bathtub.

Big Enough for Two
The size of a typical corner bathtub is such that it comfortably fits two persons. This gives you the opportunity to not only relax there by yourself, but also spend a romantic evening with your significant other.

The Bells and Whistles
As if the chance to soak up the warm water after a long, hectic day at work wasn’t enough, corner bathtubs can be fitted with various extra features. The most popular extra feature consists of installing high powered jets in your tub. This is great for massaging your muscles, and it will make your bathtub not only a place for relaxation, but also a place providing health benefits.

Turning Your Bathroom Into a Peaceful Oasis
Remodeling your bathroom and turning it into a peaceful oasis is an exciting project. You and your family will enjoy and cherish the result for years to come.
