One of the best 5 1/2 cup rice cookers that you can get in Canada and the United States at present is the Zojirushi NP-HBC10. Of course it is a Micom Rice Cooker but on top of this is has Zojirushi’s top quality Induction Heating system. In this rice cooker review I want to discuss not only the features of the NP-HBC10 but also the things that you should know before spending over $250 on a rice cooker like this. Sanyo also make a very high quality machine called the ECJ-JG10W. This device has the same features as the Zojirushi NP-HBC10 but also has a pressure cooking component so it is actually even more expensive.

Cooking rice in North America continues to become more and more popular. Part of the reason for this is that people realise that rice, particularly brown rice is really good for our health. The other reason is that with the current availability of rice cookers, making great tasting rice has never been so easy.

When you use the NP-HBC10 it is really easy to make great tasting rice. It is not difficult at all. What you have to do is very straight forward. Firstly you have to decide how much rice you want to make. Since this is a 5.5 cup rice cooker, you get the best results if you make at least 2 cups of rice. Anything that you do not use can be frozen for quick re-heating any time you choose. Firstly you have to measure out exactly the number of cups that you want to make. You should use something like a chopstick to clear off excess rice from the top of the measuring cup and ensure it is completely level. Then all you have to do is wash the rice and then add the appropriate amount of water. You can tell how much to add because there are markings on the inside of the inner cooking bowl. Then press start. Using a Zojirushi NP-HBC10 is that simple.
