More and more these days, patios and decks are becoming an extension of people’s living spaces and people are increasingly becoming inclined to decorate the exterior of their home in a similar fashion to the interior of the home.  This is especially true of patios.  Where once a patio was simply a place to throw a few indestructible outdoor chairs that could be used for seating but that would withstand the beating the weather would provide, homeowners are now treating the spaces more like their family rooms or living rooms thanks to advances in products that are not only weather resistant but beautiful as well.

One great way to decorate your patio space without having to spend a fortune is to invest in a few patio chair cushions.  These cushions are a great decorative accessory because they can easily be changed when you want to promote a different color scheme or add different design elements.  Cushions these days are more than just solid colored vinyl waterproof cushions.  You can find a large assortment of styles and fabrics that look like they belong in your living room but are still made from fabrics and materials that are waterproof, weatherproof and resistant to fading, mold, and mildew.

Another new advance in décor for your patio area as well are outdoor rugs.  You can also now find rugs that look like they belong in front of your couch or under your coffee table, but they are made from materials that make them water resistant and weather resistant, so while they look like they should be left indoors, they are intended for outdoor use.  When you lay one of these rugs out on your patio among your furniture, you suddenly look like you’ve just created an outdoor living room, rather than just a corner of your backyard.

With all of the great products out there, its no wonder that patios are beginning to look more and more like living rooms!
