How to Be Eco Friendly with Kitchen Cabinets
The way we treat our environment will determine the future of the younger generation. Man’s destructive practices like destruction of forests, pollution and replacing earth with stone has lead to all sorts of disasters such as flooding, forest fires, and outbreak of hitherto unknown illnesses. Destructive practices destroy mother earth, which in turn leads to unhealthy life. The result has been and still is death.
Being eco friendly means that we treat our environment with respect. We become more responsible in the way we conduct our every day affairs as relates to the environment. One of the ways has been through product recycling so that, like in the case of wood cabinets, fewer trees are cut or where this happens, a replacement is done. In some countries, for example, it is a policy that for every tree cut, two are planted.
It is possible to be eco friendly with kitchen cabinets. How do we do this?
For eco friendly or green cabinets, we need to:
1) Re- use old kitchen cabinets instead of throwing them away. For example you build a house for your pet or an animal enclosure with the parts
2) Avoid using plastics that release harmful chemicals to the environment
3) Only use recyclable or biodegradable materials for your kitchen cabinets.
4) Avoid cabinets made from Medium Density Fiberboard ( MDF) material as it contains formaldehyde, a dangerous chemical.
5) Buy cabinets from manufacturers who provide humane working conditions for their workers and who do not release pollutants to the environment.
6) Use your cabinets until they are no longer usable. Even as you dispose of them, do so responsibly. For example, you could deposit them in a recycling plant.
